Complete downstream equipment for reinforced thermoplastic pipe manufacturing
JMG Machinery provides a complete range of composite pipe production auxiliary equipment designed for RTP (Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe) and TCP (Thermoplastic Composite Pipe) extrusion lines. These downstream machines work in harmony with extruders and tape winding units to ensure continuous, efficient, and high-quality pipe manufacturing.
Our auxiliary line covers four core stations: Vacuum Calibration Tank , Haul-off Unit , Automatic Winder , and Pipe Cutter .
Equipment | Function |
|---|---|
Vacuum Calibration Tank | Shapes and cools extruded pipe under controlled vacuum, ensuring precise dimensional accuracy |
Haul-off Unit | Provides stable traction to pull pipe through the line without slippage or deformation |
Automatic Winder | Coils flexible pipe under constant tension, preserving roundness and preventing ovality |
Pipe Cutter | Cuts finished pipe to preset lengths with chipless cutting mechanism |
All auxiliary equipment is CE certified , customizable for pipe diameters from 4 to 10 inches, and backed by JMG's global technical support.
Note: This auxiliary equipment can be integrated with any RTP/TCP production line – whether you are setting up a new system or upgrading an existing one.
The vacuum calibration tank is used to calibrate and cool the extruded inner liner pipe (core pipe) before the tape winding process.
Technical Features:
Double-chamber spray cooling design for efficient heat dissipation
Stainless steel construction – corrosion‑resistant and durable
Vacuum negative pressure control ensures precise pipe geometry
Adjustable spray nozzles for uniform cooling across entire pipe surface
Suitable for PVC, PE, PP, PERT, PA, and other thermoplastics
Transparent observation windows for real‑time monitoring
Why It Matters: Proper calibration immediately after extrusion locks in dimensional accuracy. A high-quality vacuum tank reduces ovality and ensures the core pipe meets tolerance requirements before entering the winding section.
The haul-off unit provides sufficient traction force to pull the pipe steadily through the production line. For RTP/TCP lines, two haul-off units are typically required – one after the inner pipe extrusion and one after the outer sheath extrusion.
Technical Features:
Caterpillar belt haul-off design for uniform gripping without pipe deformation
Servo motor control for precise speed synchronization with upstream equipment
Adjustable clamping pressure to accommodate different pipe diameters
Upper and lower belt drive for balanced traction
High friction belt material to prevent slipping even under high‑load conditions
Speed synchronization with winder to maintain constant tension
Why It Matters: Stable haul‑off ensures continuous extrusion without stoppages. When two haul‑off units run at the same speed, the reinforced pipe maintains consistent wall thickness and reinforcement layer integrity.
The automatic pipe winder is an end‑of‑line device used to continuously collect extruded pipes and wind them into coils under controlled tension. This is the final stage of the production line.
Technical Features:
Double‑station design allows coil change without stopping production
Constant tension control – prevents pipe stretching, flattening, or irregular coiling
Speed synchronization with haul‑off unit ensures stable line operation
Automatic traversing guide for uniform layer stacking
Servo‑controlled winding torque adjustment for thin‑wall or flexible pipes
Adjustable reel size to match coil diameter requirements
Limit switch protection for reliable operation
Supported Pipe Types: Small‑diameter flexible pipes, PE irrigation pipes, coiled multilayer pipes, spoolable RTP pipes
Why It Matters: Without a properly designed winder, even a well‑tuned pipe extrusion line can suffer from product deformation, unstable tension, and increased labor cost. Proper winding ensures the pipe cools and sets under stable mechanical conditions, preserving roundness and dimensional consistency for long‑term storage and transport.
The automatic pipe cutter cuts the finished pipe to customer‑specified lengths before the winding stage (for coiled products) or after winding (for cut-to-length orders).
Technical Features:
Chipless cutting blade – clean cut without plastic dust or debris
Pneumatic or servo‑driven cutting action
Synchronized with line speed for accurate length control
Limit switch sensor triggers cutting at preset length
Automatic unload system ejects cut pieces
Dust removal system for clean operation (on select models)
Typical Applications: Cutting RTP pipes to exact lengths for shipping on reels or pallets, cutting small‑diameter flexible pipes for irrigation or gas applications
