Continuous Glass Fiber Tape Winding Reinforced Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (RTP/TCP) Production Line

The equipment adopts pre-impregnated tape winding / in-situ consolidation process, using hot air heating to realize simultaneous winding and consolidation. The pipe is divided into three layers: inner liner (PE/PP/PA/PERT), reinforcement core layer, and outer protective layer. The reinforcement core layer adopts multi-layer interlaced winding to bear stress, temperature, and creep resistance.

Glass fiber tape winding reinforced composite pipe production equipment


This production line is designed for continuous manufacturing of Glass Fiber Tape Winding Reinforced Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (RTP/TCP). The system adopts pre-impregnated unidirectional (UD) tape winding / in-situ consolidation process, using hot air heating to achieve simultaneous winding and fusion without post-curing. The produced pipe features a three-layer structure: inner liner (PE/PP/PERT/PA), reinforcement core (interlaced glass fiber UD tape winding), and outer protective layer (abrasion-resistant/UV-stable/flame-retardant). Pipe diameter ranges from 50 to 600mm, with maximum pressure rating up to 30MPa, offering a reliable alternative to traditional metal and GRE pipes.

Working Principle & Process Flow

  1. Inner liner extrusion: Single/twin screw extruder extrudes thermoplastic (PE/PP, etc.) to form a continuous inner pipe through a die.

  2. Glass fiber tape winding reinforcement: The inner pipe enters a 4-spindle (or multi-spindle) winding unit. Glass fiber UD tape is wound at set winding angles (±45°~±60° adjustable) under constant tension, with multiple interlaced layers. Simultaneously, hot air nozzles heat the winding point for in-situ consolidation, fusing the tape with the inner pipe to form the reinforcement core.

  3. Outer coating: The reinforced pipe enters a second extruder to apply an outer protective layer (color stripes, flame retardant, etc. optional).

  4. Cooling & sizing: Vacuum sizing tank + spray cooling.

1: What are your strengths?
   Answer: Kunshan Gemag Machinery adopts a unique combination of infrared and hot air heating. The heating method is reasonable, efficient, with good heating effect and stable performance, which makes the adhesion of the reinforcement layer stronger. With mature technology and experienced engineers.
2: How will the machine be assembled and debugged when it arrives at the factory, and will the customer's employees be trained?
   Answer: We will debug the equipment before delivering it to the customer's site. After the debugging is correct, it will be disassembled and sent to the customer's factory. After shipment, we will have experienced engineers on-site to install and assist in debugging. After the on-site installation and commissioning are completed, all-round training will be provided to the customer's employees.
3: What do you do if there is a problem or failure with equipment that requires guidance or replacement parts?
   Answer: If there is a problem, we will provide video technical guidance, and if necessary, we will send engineers to the site to solve the problem. If during the warranty period, parts need to be replaced, we will send spare parts for free. For wearing parts, we only charge the cost fee.
4: How long is the warranty period of the product?
   Answer: We will provide 1 year parts warranty and technical support.
5: Can I visit your factory in China?
   Answer: Yes, our factory is located in Kunshan, Suzhou, near Shanghai. If customers need on-site

visits, we can provide airport pick-up for you.
